Obama Watch Development in Gaza

Elected President of the United States, Barack Obama has been talking with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Condoleezza Rice, Saturday or Sunday (28/12) on the Indonesian attack Israel to Gaza Strip, which resulted in 228 people killed.

"The president elected to the phone and information from Laos Rice," said one official Transition Team Obama. Sources add that Obama speech that started eight minutes through the phone. "Obama will continue to monitor events in the Gaza Strip, and other global events," he said.

Previously, the Israeli air force attacked the Gaza Strip, which Hamas dominated, Saturday, and continues until evening. This is a retaliatory action against the militant Hamas people who fire rocket into the southern region of Israel. This incident occurred eight days after the armistice agreement between the two countries ended.

Obama promised peace in the Middle East is a priority after becoming U.S. president. However, Israel hopes Obama remain in the party of Israel, as promised during the campaign first.

Observer of public policy Aaron David Miller of the Woodrow Wilson International Center said, "I think the direction will change American politics: You will get a serious reaction from the government that will come." Aaron is also an adviser six foreign ministers in the U.S. about the Arab-Israeli relations.
