Tamil Tiger abducted 16 Children's orphanage

Tamil tiger rebels abducted 16 children from a Catholic orphanage in northern Sri Lanka to be trained to become soldiers.

Therefore according to the civilians who fled, said a statement of the Ministry of Defense Sri Lanka, Monday (29/12).

Children are taken from Dharmapuram in Kilinochchi, 120 km north of Colombo, after two Roman Catholic priests arrested robbery with a weapon, said the military, which quoted a description of civilians.

Ministry said, the rebel cleric Macan Tamil demands that allows all children aged above 12 years to be taken. Incident that was witnessed by a woman who lived near the church, said the Ministry.

"Children are not guilty of attempted second pastor memegangi but failed," said the Ministry, quoted a description of the woman. "I regret because it does not save children. But I must save my children first. Therefore, why do I leave my home," said the mother of two children, the Ministry was cited.

A spokesperson of the Catholic Church in Colombo says the information can not justify the kidnapping because communication with the orphanage is lost.
