Police India, Sunday (21/12), began investigating reports that villagers in rural India have been hit the 50 women with wood.

The woman was accused as witch. In addition to strain, the villagers also cut the hair of the woman.

They do so after receiving instructions from the local spiritual leader, said the treatment of women that will protect the village from evil spirits.

The village is located in a forest in the poor district of Chhattisgarh State, 400 km from the capital of Raipur. In the area, dozens of women murdered each year because of a suspected witch or soothsayer.

Such suspicions merebak easy in rural areas that the population is less educated. In addition to the murder in Chhattisgarh, more than 100 women tortured, diarak naked, or Dilecehkan in the state each year.
