U.S. 30000 Send Additional Troops to Afghanistan

Head of the U.S. Military Joint Staff Mr. Mike Mullen, Sunday (21/12) in Kabul said, the Pentagon would send additional troops to 20000-30000 Afghanistan in the summer of the future.

Thus, the number of U.S. soldiers who are in the U.S. will reach 60,000 personnel. This additional troops, including medical teams, aviator, and others.

This year is the year for the heaviest U.S. military in Afghanistan since the invasion in 2001 in order to suppress Taliban groups, the suspected leader of the network to protect the radical al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden.

Previously, the army commander in Afghanistan has requested 20,000 additional troops to help Canadian and British troops in two provinces outside Kabul, and in the South region.

Meanwhile, the U.S. also will send teams phylum mountain (Mountain Division Force) to the two provinces outside Kabul, Logar and Wardak. In both provinces, the number of militant increased since last year. In addition, the U.S. Defense Minister Robert Gates has also approved the delivery flight brigade some time in the future.

According to Mullen, Afghanistan never led by a strong central government, and the U.S. will ask for community groups in Afghanistan to play a larger role for strategy in the future.

He mentions the U.S. goals in Afghanistan as appropriate, and said, the U.S. long-term vision is that Afghanistan can govern itself, to respect international law, and provide welfare and security to the people.
